As we begin a new year and wrap up 2024, we reflect on what has truly been a transformative year for Murray Road Agency. From expanding our team and forming new partnerships to executing high-impact marketing campaigns and attending top industry events, this past year has solidified Murray Road’s position as a leading marketing agency in the outdoor, hunting, personal defense and tactical industries. With over 20 clients across the U.S., we take pride in crafting engaging brand narratives tailored to match a variety of audiences. This year we saw success in our goal to amplify industry leaders while driving measurable results for our clients through public relations, media buying, affiliate marketing, content creation, email marketing, event management and more.  

 

Starting with a Bang: SHOT Show & Beyond 

The year kicked off with high energy and endless opportunities at Industry Day At The Range and SHOT Show in Nevada. In January, 11 Murray Road team members made their way to Las Vegas to support clients through a variety of marketing efforts. With over 55,000 attendees and nearly 2,600 exhibitors, SHOT Show offered us the chance to support new product launches, introduce our team to the latest trends, and immerse Murray Road into the landscape of the 2024 outdoors industry. Our public relations and events teams had a hand in exciting launch announcements including the PWS UXR, Silencer Central’s BANISH Speed K, Savage Arm’s KLYM series, HIVIZ’s FastDot, and TrueTimber’s collaboration with HONDA on their 2024 Honda Pioneer 1000-5 SXS. Meanwhile, our content team was on-site to capture every moment, providing first-hand looks across digital channels for anyone who couldn’t be there themselves. 

As members of our team returned home from SHOT Show, others were already back on the road, keeping our commitment to industry engagement and brand gro wth going. Team members across our public relations, affiliate, social media and content projects attended the National Wild Turkey Federation Convention and Sport Show in Tennessee, the AvantLink Summit in Wyoming, an exclusive safari hunt in Africa and the South Carolina Waterfowl Association’s Sportsman’s Ball back home in Charleston, where TrueTimber’s official corporate sponsorship of SCWA was acknowledged.  

We’re proud to have opportunities near and far where our team can travel to build relationships with key figures. We believe this commitment to relationship development and new opportunities is what differentiates us as an agency in such a competitive market. We’re always seeking new ways to help brands build and grow their presence, and 2024 was no exception.  

New Faces, New Partnerships, Same Winning Formula 

As we moved through the year, our client roster expanded as we added brands such as Princeton Tec, Premier Body Armor, CCW Safe, Barnes & Sierra and Cole Fine Guns. These partnerships presented us with fresh perspectives, which our team met with excitement and a boost of inspiration. New faces and products allow us to flex our creative muscles on the tailored campaign strategy we bring to the brands we work with.   

Our strategy is one that we know drives tangible success. Take, for example, the string of successes from several of our clients in 2024, where they earned well-deserved recognition in the outdoors industry. Notable accolades included: 

  • Safariland’s Reader’s Choice Gold Award from Tactical Retailer 
  • Remington’s 360 Buckhammer named Ammunition Product of the Year by NRA’s American Hunter Magazine  
  • Savage Arms named Best in Firearms at the Kinsey’s Dealer Choice Awards.  

 

 

Launching Big Ideas, One Product at a Time 

This year, we had a hand in product launches that generated significant buzz across the industry. Through our hands-on approach with our clients, we helped generate excitement, build anticipation, and maximize visibility for each new product, ensuring a seamless experience from concept to launch These releases included: 

  • Safariland’s Limited Edition Chocolate Chip Camo 6000 Series Holster 
  • Savage Arms’ TIMBER Series and 110 Trail Hunter Lite 
  • Premier Body Armor’s Fortis Line 
  • Gun Toten’ Mamas new Mustard Clutch Purse and Mustard Slim Crossbody 
  • TrueTimber’s collaboration with Alpine Lager for a special edition, custom-designed can 
  • SK Guns’ “Lost States of America” series, Daniel Boone edition and their Renaissance Collection’s Leonardo Da Vinci model.   

Whether it’s creating unique and engaging content, connecting client’s products with the right audience, or producing a media event that generates excitement, we look forward to all the ways product launches allow us to work with others to create bold and dynamic campaigns that can make in an impact in our industry. 


Growing and Strengthening Our Home Team 

By mid-2024, our efforts to expand both creatively and strategically were in full swing. Our team grew with new additions in the affiliate, content, social media and public relations departments, including Affiliate Specialists Ben Sloan and Sam Schneider, Digital Advertising Specialist Miguel Eguia, Communication Specialists Kaycie Bellrichard and Anne Stuart Cox, Social Media Specialist Brayden Sharp, Account Manager Kim Theurich and Senior Video Editor Adam Dunn, further enhancing our creative capabilities. This expansion allowed us to boost our outreach and meet the growing needs of our clients.

Creativity on Overdrive: Our Best Content Yet 

The summer months saw us capturing high-energy content at NASCAR, working alongside our partner HOIST. Our team also traveled to Massachusetts to cover and create content for the newly rebuilt AXIS product line with Savage. These activations further showcased our ability to work across diverse industries, plan engaging media events, and produce high-quality content.

Across the ocean, our content crew attended an African safari hunt with influencer Adam Wies (aka WhoTeeWho), highlighting our creative versatility and delivering stunning footage from a location we were thrilled to include this year. Back home, our content team was working hard with Ron Spomer Outdoors– our time with them in 2024 included editing and publishing over 200 videos where we grew the RSO YouTube channel by more than 75,000 subscribers. 

 

In October, our content team debuted “Shootaru,” a dynamic video project that pushed the boundaries of creative content and strengthened our influencer partnerships. We wrapped up the year with successful launches for Savage’s Stance XR, the Burris Eliminator 6 and TrueTimber’s LWRCI 350 Legend. Meanwhile, the launch of the TrueTimber DEFENDER speaker, powered by both our social, public relations, and content teams, stood out as a key achievement in our cross-functional success. 

 

 

Major Partnerships, Product Launches, and Events 

Our momentum continued with product launches and meaningful partnerships. In the fall, our PR and content teams worked on the launches of the Savage 110 Pro Pursuit Rifle and the Savage REVEL. Our PR team also worked with Remington on their collaborative “Shoot to Cure” campaign, which raised awareness and contributions to help those affected by childhood cancer. Meanwhile, our events team was busy knocking out hunts for a busy fall season, including Shoot Like A Girl’s waterfowl hunt, which was hosted in collaboration with Beretta. 

Additionally, we attended iCAST in Orlando, where we strengthened our presence in the fishing and outdoor communities. Our events team also executed the Cast & Blast for Remington in Texas, giving people the chance to experience Remington’s latest product up close and personal against the beautiful backdrop of Seadrift, TX. 

 A Year of Bold Moves, Bigger Wins and a Bright Future 

As 2024 drew to a close, we opened our new Minnesota office. We’ve been beyond thrilled to expand our footprint and better position ourselves to serve clients nationwide. We were also excited to snag the AvantLink Agency of the Year for our work in growing affiliate marketing.
