Outdoor Stewards to Exhibit at Assoc. for Conservation Information Conference

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – July 17, 2024 – The largest gathering of state and federal fish and wildlife agency communicators will take place during the annual Association for Conservation Information (ACI) conference July 22-25, 2024 in Arlington, VA.

This highly anticipated event will be attended by more than 100 leading communicators from US state, federal, and Canadian fish and wildlife agencies, as well as by leading non-profit organizations in the conservation space.

Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation’s  (OSCF’s) Board Vice-Chair, Jenifer Wisniewski (who is a past President of ACI), stated; “No one does more on-the-ground land, fish and wildlife conservation work than the good folks at state and federal wildlife agencies. It is important for ACI communicators to get the word out about all the terrific conservation work being done on a daily basis by agency staff. Outdoor Stewards appreciates and thanks them for all they do.”

OSCF will be exhibiting throughout the conference and meeting with attendees to discuss the positive contributions that HATS (Hunters, Anglers, Trappers and Shooters) make to conservation. From being primary funders of conservation to cleaning up nature and feeding the hungry, America’s 60 million+ active HATS have much to be proud of.

OSCF will also be announcing news about our new Public Service Announcement campaign that will promote how wildlife conservation is funded by hunters and target shooters. OSCF’s PSA will be distributed to more than 11,000 radio and television stations across the US and has expected metrics of more than 250,000,000 impressions and $5,000,000 in earned media making it the largest ever pro-hunter message to reach the general population.

Outdoor Alabama to Distribute Biodegradable “Fill a Bags” from OSCF at Public Events

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – June 28, 2024 – Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation (OSCF) is proud to welcome the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) as the latest partner in conservation with OSCF’s “Fill A Bag While Filling Your Tag” national conservation engagement program.

The “Fill a Bag” program works with partners in conservation like ADCNR, also known as Outdoor Alabama, to distribute reusable, biodegradable bags to folks who enjoy outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, trapping and target shooting. These sportsmen and sportswomen are asked to take the bag with them when they head outside, and should they happen upon trash like an aluminum can or a mylar balloon, use the bag to take that trash out of nature. The conservationists are asked to show other people the “Trophy Trash” they found by posting a photo or brief video to their social media to show others who the true stewards of conservation are. Examples of such posts can be found on Instagram by visiting @OutdoorStewards.

“Outdoor Alabama gets it,” noted Jim Curcuruto, executive director of Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation. “They know that their customers who enjoy hunting, fishing, trapping and/or target shooting in Alabama are primary funders, and stewards of land, fish and wildlife conservation in the Cotton State. The ‘Fill a Bag’ program is a great way for their customers to get credit for taking care of the environment. We thank Outdoor Alabama for promoting the positive contributions of outdoors folks by being a partner in conservation with this unique program.”

More than 100,000 reusable, biodegradable bags have been distributed to hunters, anglers, trappers and shooters (HATS) nationwide who have used the bags to remove tons of ‘Trophy Trash’ from nature.

As ADCNR Marketing and Communications Director, Billy Pope mentions, “We are proud of all our customers for all they do to support conservation efforts throughout Alabama. The ‘Fill A Bag’ program through Outdoor Stewards is a natural partnership that we are excited to enter.”

Alabamians can get their free biodegradable bags by visiting the Outdoor Alabama exhibit booth at any of these upcoming events:

●      July 12th – 14th, 2024 at the TN Valley Hunting and Fishing Expo in Huntsville, AL.

●      July 19th - 21st, 2024 at the World Deer Expo in Birmingham, AL.

●      August 16th – 18th, 2024 at the Buckmasters Expo in Montgomery, AL.
