SK Guns® Changes Lives Through the SK Gives Back® Initiative

By regularly donating firearms to organizations committed to enhancing personal growth and development opportunities, the program gives back to those in need on a local and national level.

Back in 2020, SK Guns® saw an immense need in the firearm community and answered the call through SK Gives Back®. The DC Project raises awareness that firearms safety and violence prevention are achieved through education, not legislation. Kids & Clays schedules and coordinates shooting events to support participating Ronald McDonald House Charity Chapters. Hosting annual Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap fundraising events, they touch the lives of children and families everywhere through the shooting sports.

Purple Heart Homes

Providing housing solutions for service-connected disabled and aging Veterans, Purple Heart Homes fills the gap in housing through a variety of programs dedicated to addressing specific needs within the Veteran population.

The Purple Heart Integration Project is committed to providing wounded warriors access to adaptable living solutions, career training and community engagement.

Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation

Dedicated to providing shooting-sports education and opportunities to school-age youths around the United States, the SSSF is an educational-athletic organization that encourages young athletes to expand their personal growth and development.

SK Customs® Continues to Honor Those Who Have Served with the Limited Edition Purple Heart Commemorative Colt 1911

HAYMARKET, Va. November 11, 2022 —Veterans Day provides Americans an opportunity to recognize and honor those who have served our great Nation, and  SK Customs® is doing their part by highlighting their recent launch of the 240th Anniversary Purple Heart Commemorative firearm. This limited-edition design of the Government Model Colt 1911 Series 70 chambered in .45ACP honors the Military Badge of Merit, the modern-day Purple Heart Medal and those who have received it.

“It’s truly an honor and a privilege to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms by releasing this limited-edition firearm,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs.  “We’ve partnered with Purple Heart Homes, the Purple Heart Integration Project and U.S Army veteran, Omar “Crispy” Avila, to recognize the men and women who have and continue to serve in our Armed Forces.”

Avila joined the U.S. Army in 2004 as an Infantryman. After deploying to Iraq in 2007, his vehicle was struck with a 200 lb IED, resulting in burns to 75% of his body and amputation below the knee of his right leg. Sergeant Avila retired from the U.S. Army in 2010 and devoted his life to serving other Veterans and helping wounded warriors across the nation. The origins of the Purple Heart Medal trace back to August 1782 when General George Washington issued the Badge of Military Merit. This medal was bestowed whenever any singular meritorious action was performed. The award was reintroduced in 1932 as the Purple Heart Medal to honor the bravery of wounded soldiers. Today, it is awarded for a wide variety of combat injuries, deaths, those wounded in acts of terrorism and more.

Key features of the Custom Colt 1911 Series 70 include:

• Each pistol has been designed to display a custom medallion of the modern-day Purple Heart Medal set into bright white faux ivory grips.

• The slide contains custom 24K gold scroll, shading and inscription of the quote “SOME GAVE ALL, ALL GAVE SOME” dedicated to those who serve.

• The rear panel of the Colt 1911 displays George Washington’s Coat of Arms while the reverse has the quote of “A GRATEFUL NATION HONORS AND REMEMBERS,” both in 24K Gold.

• The top of the slide has been designed with an authentic purple sapphire front sight, modern day Purple Heart Medal, 24K gold ribbon, and George Washington’s Badge of Military Merit and signature.

• Further gold plating with high polishing has been placed along the slide, frame flats, slide, barrel and hardware.

• Each model has been engraved with a special edition number 001of 240 in 24K gold on the rear panel

Each pistol is accompanied by an uncirculated West Point Minted National Purple Heart Hall of Honor 2022 Proof Silver Dollar with the West Point “W” mint mark and a certificate of authenticity singed by the Director of the U.S. Mint.

Through their SK Gives Back initiative, SK Customs has partnered with and will be donating a portion of the proceeds raised by the sale of this production to Purple Heart Homes and Purple Heart Integration Project along with a pistol to each foundation for their upcoming fundraisers.

SK Customs® Debuts “Pancho Villa” as the First Pistol in New “La Revolución” Series

HAYMARKET, VA – November 4, 2022 – SK Customs is celebrating the rich history of the Mexican Revolution with their latest series, “La Revolución.” Kicking off the historical series is the “Pancho Villa,” a gun that tells the story of Mexico’s revolutionary general, Francisco “Pancho” Villa.

“We are proud to announce our new series, ‘La Revolución,’” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs®. “‘Pancho Villa’ marks the first pistol in the limited-edition production run of only 300 full size Colt 19ll chambered in 38 Super. These beautifully engraved, collectable firearms honor the Mexican Revolution, a defining historical event that lasted just over 10 years.”

A beautiful Cannas floral scroll frames a dramatic illustration of Pancho Villa on horseback galloping into battle on the left side of the firearm. Along with an engraved depiction of The Monument to the Revolution in Mexico City, the side is completed with the general’s Army, known as “División del Norte,” holding a banner with Pancho Villa’s iconic phrase, “Fusílenlo, Después Averiguamos,” translated as “Shoot him, we'll find out later.”

The coat of arms Free and Sovereign State of Durango emblem, engraved with “REVOLUCION,” decorate the right side of the “Pancho Villa.” Selective coverage of a Cannas floral scroll with frosted shadowing border a right profile design of the general fearlessly galloping into battle. This side of the pistol is completed with the phrase, “El Centauro del Norte,” translated “The Centaur of the North.” 

An accentuated portrait of Francisco Pancho Villa titled “1878-1923 Centenaro,” signifying the 100th anniversary of his passing sits on top of the slide. The top of the ejection port showcases Pancho Villa’s Bandolier loaded with .30-30 caliber cartridges while the rear sight features Mexico’s coat of arms (1899-1917).

The gun is perfected with a highly polished frame, slide, barrel and hardware engraved with selective silver and gold plating on the slide. Custom antique gold peso medallions embellish the new Kirinite style grips for a notable finish.
