SK Customs Introduces the Third Edition of the Mexican War of Independence Series

HAYMARKET, Va. September 15, 2023 — SK Customs®, the Nation’s only series driven, limited edition manufacturer of custom firearms, is proud to announce the release of the limited-edition Generalissimo Jose M. Morelos Colt 1911. This is the third edition of the Mexican War of Independence series, following the success of The Emperor and Premier Presidente.

Morelos, a Mexican priest, statesman, and military commander, is considered a national hero in Mexico. He led the Mexican War of Independence movement, assuming his leadership after the execution of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in 1811. Morelos was one of the first true Mexican nationalists and had a vision of a unified, free Mexico.

“This historically significant war was fought for 11 years and 11 days. It ended over 200 years ago on September 27th, 1821. We’re proud to continue honoring the Mexican War of Independence,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs. “We’re thrilled to announce this limited-edition production run of only 200 Full Size Government Model Colt 1911 chambered in 38 Super and give collectors a chance to own a piece of Mexican history.”

Each pistol will include a special engraved edition number. The firearm features intricate engravings on both sides, depicting the 1810 Mexican Independence Coat of Arms, the Congress of Chilpancingo on the day of signing the Solemn Act of the Declaration of Independence of North America and the first Mexican legal historical document which established the separation of Mexico from Spanish rule.

The right side of the firearm is adorned with the Coat of Arms of Morelos along with a depiction of when Hidalgo summoned Morelos to join him shortly after his “Grito de Dolores” (Cry of Delores) starting the revolt for Mexico’s Independence. The top of the slide presents a portrait of Generalissimo Morelos and an illustration of the equestrian statue of José María Morelos located in the city of Guadalajara.

To finish off this custom gun, the frame, slide, barrel and hardware are all highly polished and feature .999 silver plating in select areas. This historical masterpiece is made complete with Kirinite® grips presenting the silver emblem of the iconic Rampant Colt.

SK Customs Launches Second Pistol in The Untamed Series: Alacrán

August 18, 2023 — SK Customs®, the Nation’s only series driven, limited edition manufacturer of custom firearms, is proud to introduce Alacrán, the second production in The Untamed series. This exclusive production run consists of only 200 Colt 1911 Full Size Government Models pistols, each meticulously crafted to embody the essence of one of the world's most dangerous predators, the scorpion.

“Following the success of the Untamed Anaconda, which paid homage to the mighty reptile, we are thrilled to introduce Alacrán as the second edition in The Untamed series,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs. “Chambered in 38 Super, these Colt firearms represent the world's highest diversity of scorpions found in Mexico, known for their extreme venomous nature.”

Alacrán, meaning Scorpion, is a yellow scorpion endemic to Mexico. The study of their venom is crucial for the development of lifesaving antivenom, which can cost up to $36 million per gallon.

The Untamed Alacrán pistol showcases a semi-polished stainless finish on the slide and frame flats, adorned with selective 24k gold controls. Each pistol features a special engraved edition number, making it a truly unique collector's item. The custom engraved scroll pattern on the firearm resembles the intricate design of a scorpion's stinger, while the top of the slide showcases a depiction of a "super" scorpion in 24k gold. SK Customs Launches Second Pistol in “La Revolución” Series: “Venustiano Carranza”

HAYMARKET, Va. July 14, 2023 — SK Customs®, the Nation’s only series driven, limited edition manufacturer of custom firearms, is proud to introduce “Venustiano Carranza,” the second production in the historic Mexican “La Revolución” Series. This limited-edition design of the Colt 1911 Full Size Government Model chambered in 38 Super honors the rich history of the Mexican Revolution.

“After 7 years of civil unrest, Carranza provided much-needed hope for the Mexican Revolution,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs. “This limited-edition production follows the first firearm in the series, “Pancho Villa,” and represents the restoration of lands to native peoples, the separation of church and state and dramatic economic and educational reforms.”

Carranza, also known as “Primer Jefe” or First Chief, consolidated power in the capital, leading to a convention in 1916 to revise the liberal constitution. Carranza was elected the first president under the new revolutionary Mexican Constitution of 1917, serving from 1917 to 1920.

Each Carranza Colt 1911 Full Size Government Model, only 300 in production, features a highly polished royal blue finish with selective 24k gold controls. Each gun includes a special engraved edition number.

The left side of the firearm showcases the “Monument to the Revolution” in Mexico City with a Cannas floral scroll. An illustration of Carranza in 24k Gold on horseback, saluting as his constituents cheer, is engraved with, “Primer Jefe del Ejército Constitucionalista” (First Chief of the Constitutional Army). The forward slide art displays the Constitutional Army following Carranza into the city center with the words “Paseo De La Reforma” (Promenade of the Reform) engraved in 24k Gold.

The right side continues with “REVOLUCION” displayed in 24k Gold, the Carranza Family Coat of Arms and a depiction of the Carranza’s revolutionist title “Insurrectos Mexicanos” (Mexican Insurgents).

To complete the firearm, a portrait of Carranza sits on the top of the slide alongside the iconic Mexican Eagle respective for its era. The firearm wears a set of custom Kirinite® grips embedded with a set of custom 24k Gold Peso Medallions. The MSRP of this unique collectable is $2,900.
