Safariland CADRE Golob Takes Back-To-Back Women’s Title Wins in Wyoming

Safariland®, a leading global provider of safety products designed for public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets, announced that Safariland CADRE, Julie Golob won titles at the NRA Steamboat Challenge Action Pistol Regional and Wyoming State Championships in a back-to-back match weekend hosted by the Otto Road Shooting Range in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The double match weekend kicked off with the Steamboat Challenge Regional featuring classic action pistol courses of fire: Moving Target, Barricade, Plates, and Practical. Julie secured 1st place finish among women, and 4th place finish in the Open Division. She took the overall stage win for the Barricade Event with a perfect 480 score.

With regional championships crowned, the Wyoming State match repeated two courses, Moving Target and Plates, with the two remining courses being selected at random. In Golob’s case, International Rapid Fire and Modified Barricade were selected, adding a twist and excitement with no previous opportunity to shoot either course. In the Wyoming State Championships, Golob was named the Ladies Champion while earning a 3rd place podium finish in the Open Division. Despite it being a first-time run, Golob tied for first with High Master Mark Itzstein for top honors on the Modified Barricade.

“I use the Safariland ELS system with a 776 magnetic pouch to conveniently store all my mags in Action Pistol,” said Golob. “I also like to keep a spare 771 pouch with me. It’s designed to give a fast and efficient reload and it came in handy for the Modified Barricade.”

In both competitions, Julie Golob was outfitted with the same guns and gear. In addition to her Safariland ELS Rig, her setup includes a custom Smith & Wesson 9mm 911 with Trijicon MRO optic, custom loaded Federal Premium ammunition, and Caldwell safety gear.

“Safariland is very proud of CADRE Golob’s accomplishments and thankful for her outstanding representation of our brand. These back-to-back titles are an excellent demonstration of Julie’s marksmanship and abilities with a pistol and dedication to refining her shooting skills,” said Christina Rhine.
