Savage Arms Wins Three NRA Golden Bullseye Awards for 2021

Westfield, Massachusetts – December 17, 2020 – Savage Arms is proud to announce that three NRA publications have chosen Savage guns for 2021 Golden Bullseye Awards. The recognitions by American Hunter, NRA Women, and Shooting Illustrated are the latest accolades awarded to Savage in a year marked by the debut of dynamic and award-winning new products.

“Savage is humbled by these awards,” said Al Kasper, CEO of Savage Arms. “At Savage, we’re committed to purpose-driven innovation. We’re building guns that redefine what’s possible for ergonomics, control, and accuracy—and the industry is taking notice. I’m exceptionally proud of the team at Savage and the guns we’re building. The Golden Bullseye Award in any category is exceptional, and Savage has been chosen for three! On behalf of everyone at Savage, I’d like to thank NRA Publications for these recognitions.”

The first 2021 Golden Bullseye awarded to Savage is for RENEGAUGE. The American-made 12-gauge RENEGAUGE has been selected as the 2021 American Hunter Shotgun of the Year.

RENEGAUGE has also been selected as the 2021 NRA Women Long Gun of the Year. RENEGAUGE’s mild recoil and adjustable stock have made the gun a popular choice for all shooters.

The Savage AXIS II Precision has been selected as the 2021 Shooting Illustrated Rifle of the Year. The AXIS II offers a tremendous value for marksmen looking for reliable long-range accuracy.

“Golden Bullseye Awards acknowledge the finest products available in the shooting sports,” the announcement reads. “The winners are selected by a seven-member committee consisting of editors, graphic designers and veteran NRA Publications staff, representing more than a century of collective experience in the shooting and hunting industry.”

The awards will be presented at the 2021 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits scheduled for September 3-5, 2021 in Houston, Texas.  The complete list of winners will appear in the May 2021 issue of American Rifleman, American Hunter and Shooting Illustrated magazines.

Savage Arms Debuts New RENEGAUGE in TrueTimber® Prairie Camouflage

Westfield, Massachusetts – December 9, 2020 – Savage Arms is proud to announce a brand-new look for RENEGAUGE. The American made 12 gauge that won Guns & Ammo Magazine’s Shotgun of the Year and Wildfowl Magazine’s Editor’s Choice award is now available in TrueTimber Prairie.

“Over the past year, RENEGAUGE has proven to be a versatile platform,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. “And TrueTimber’s Prairie is a versatile camouflage pattern that’s ideal for the arid landscapes of the west and Midwest, and the barrel and receiver of this new RENEGAUGE are coated in a light-tan Cerakote® that protects as well as it blends in.”

RENEGAUGE is ideal for wingshooters. At the core of RENEGAUGE’s success is the Dual Regulation Inline Valve system (D.R.I.V.). Both low-brass target shells and Magnum hunting shells will cycle the action with the same reliability and without any adjustment from the shooter. The fluting on the barrel helps create a well-balanced gun that swings exceptionally well, and the RENEGAUGE’s protective coatings and finishes create a gun that can withstand any conditions.

Features

•       D.R.I.V. gas system

•       TrueTimberPrairie Camo stock adjustable for length of pull, comb height, drop and cast

•       One-piece, chrome plated action bar assembly

•       Chrome plated reciprocating components

•       Stock rod buffer to reduce felt recoil

•       Fluted barrel with Cerakote finish

•       Carbon steel ventilated rib with red fiberoptic sight

•       Competition-ready easy loading magazine port

•       Oversized controls

•       3 interchangeable flush mount choke tubes (Beretta/Benelli) – IC, M, F

•       Hard-sided carrying case

RENEGAUGE is currently available in three other configurations:

RENEGAUGE Field: For an all-around work horse that can go anywhere and cycle anything, nothing beats RENEGAUGE Field.

RENEGAUGE Waterfowl: With its Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades pattern and 28” barrel, this RENEGAUGE is ideal for duck season.

RENEGAUGE Turkey: Turkey hunters will appreciate the extra concealment offered by this RENEGAUGE’s Mossy Oak Bottomland camo and the maneuverability of its 24” barrel.

Savage Arms RENEGAUGE Takes Home Wildfowl Magazine’s Editor’s Choice Award

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – November 23, 2020 – Savage Arms is proud to announce that RENEGAUGE is the Editor’s Choice for Wildfowl Magazine in 2020. Wildfowl’s Editor’s Choice award is the latest in a growing list of accolades earned by the RENEGAUGE family of American made semiautomatic shotguns.

“RENEGAUGE was built to the meet the needs of American sportsmen and women,” Jessica Treglia, Sr. Brand Manager at Savage Arms, said. “Hunters demand guns that run reliably, and the readers of Wildfowl know why—conditions can be demanding. Wildfowl’s Editor’s Choice award shows that RENEGAUGE is up to the challenges wingshooters may face.”

“The big tell?” Wildfowl Editor Skip Knowles wrote in the announcement. “We watched over a dozen people who have never held one before shoot this gun well long before it came to market. A monster of innovation, the big story with this 2020 stunner is the shotgun’s D.R.I.V. dual regulating in-line valve gas system. This system vents excess gas before driving the bolt, ejection you can depend on no matter the size of the load or outside conditions.

“Also, because gas is vented, felt recoil is greatly reduced so it is a 3-inch chamber auto loader that doesn’t make the shooter scream,” Knowles added. “Adjustments, including the length of pull and drop at the heel make fitting a breeze.”

RENEGAUGE WATERFOWL: With the addition of the Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades camouflage, RENEAUGE WATERFOWL isn’t easily seen, yet the gun’s exceptional reliability and adaptability make this a clear win for wingshooters.

RENEGAUGE TURKEY: With its 24” barrel and Mossy Oak camouflage patterns, Renegauge Turkey is easy to maneuver in dense brush and even easier to conceal from anxious jakes.

RENEGAUGE FIELD: The RENEGAUGE FIELD is a well-rounded shotgun designed to fit almost any shooter. Everything from length-of-pull to comb height and drop at the heel can be adjusted to fit.

All three models are currently in stock at dealers across the country.
