TrueTimber® Ambassador Edwin Evers Claims MLF Bass Pro Tour Championship Trophy

INMAN, S.C. – August 28, 2019 – TrueTimber brand ambassador and pro angler Edwin Evers dominated the Upper Mississippi River during the Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour REDCREST Championship last weekend, pulling in an incredible runaway victory. His first-place finish in the championship round adds to an impressive season. Withthree top-five Bass Pro Tour finishes and the title of Points Champion already under his belt, Evers sealed the deal by taking home the REDCREST trophy.

“If anyone deserves to be celebrated, it’s Edwin Evers,” said TrueTimber CEO Rusty Sellars. “From the beginning of the Bass Pro Tour to the final ‘lines out’ call in the championship round, Evers proved that he was a force to be reckoned with—and he did it with humility. His excellent run and performance this season were capped by a huge victory, and it was truly remarkable to watch.”

REDCREST Performance

Stage Two Champion, Bass Pro Tour Points Champion and now REDCREST Champion, Evers had a weight total of 85-06 when all was said and done—15 pounds more than the combined totals of the second and third place anglers. Evers started the championship round with a bang and was out in front for nearly every minute.

“What an amazing day,” said Evers. “I was so excited to catch them where I caught them. I’m so thankful I did it now because it was such a bigger stage.”

Bass Pro Tour Performance

Holding the points lead through five of the eight Bass Pro Tour events this season, Evers added the title of Points Champion to a growing list of career achievements. With a second-place finish in MLF Bass Pro Tour Stage One, a dominating win in Stage Two and fourth in Stage Three, Evers now adds his biggest win by securing the REDCREST victory.

Exclusive Camo sponsor of the MLF Bass Pro Tour, TrueTimber debuted a new television commercial featuring Evers that aired all season during MLF Live coverage. It will also hit the airwaves when MLF comes to television and cable networks later this year. The commercial can be viewed here.
