Lone Wolf Displaying Newly Available DUSK™19 at CANCON

Lone Wolf is proud to be one of the many industry partners attending RECOIL Magazine’s bi-annual event CANCON: A Fully Suppressed Range Day April 29-30 at the Ben Avery Range in Phoenix, Arizona. Attendees of this exclusive event will get a chance to put some suppressed rounds downrange with Lone Wolf Arms’ newest handgun, the DUSK™19, featuring the BDE™ 9mm from Primary Weapons Systems new line of suppressors.

CANCON is a newly formed bi-annual event hosted by RECOIL Magazine showcasing some of the industry’s top firearms and suppressors paired together for a uniquely quiet range day. Individuals are able to interact with multiple firearms and suppressor companies at this live fire range event while getting to shoot new and exciting products for the first time.

Lone Wolf has been the original Glock accessory company for over 25 years, displayed prominently in the newest addition of the DUSK™19 complete pistol. Attendees to the event will appreciate several features, hardware, and design elements that make it both a joy to shoot on the range and ready for carry in 2023. The new handgun includes a CCS Frame with a 19° grip angle for improved pointability, an enlarged trigger guard with an ergonomic profile to reduce “Glock knuckle”, swappable backstraps with LWA Grip Texture, a new Gen 3/4 compatible dust cover, a proprietary trigger, and more.

Since it is a suppressed range day, the DUSK™19 will be equipped with a BDE™ 9mm Suppressor from Primary Weapons Systems. This BDE (Bravo Delta Echo) suppressor is 3D printed with aerospace-grade titanium and features the universal 1.125-28 TPI pattern. It includes an exterior textured design that dissipates heat and mirage. Tapered threading prevents carbon locking and loosening between baffles, while symmetrical internal baffles enhance accuracy. Savage Arms® Announces New Film “Aldo Leopold | Serve the Land”

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – April 27, 2023 Savage Arms proudly announces “Aldo Leopold | Serve the Land” which debuted exclusively on Carbon TV on April 26, 2023 and is now available on Savage’s website. This complete film breaks down the impact, importance and of course, legacy, of Leopold. Viewers will learn why he was such an influential person in the history of wildlife conservation in North America and also discover a direct tie Savage Arms had to Leopold.

Many people know Leopold as a pioneer in wildlife conservation and are familiar with his life story and major accomplishments. Leopold’s collection of essays “A Sand County Almanac” is iconic in many conservation, environmental and hunting communities. With more than two million copies sold, it is one of the most respected books about the environment ever published and is a driving force behind Leopold being regarded as the most influential mind in conservation in the 20th century.

“Aldo Leopold’s name, story and many of his accomplishments are well-known within the hunting community,” said Megan Harten, Marketing Manager at Savage Arms. “But this film highlights specific stories and paramount events with great detail. Our partners on this project present information and unparalleled knowledge that will allow even the most dedicated followers or studiers of Leopold to learn something new. We’re proud of this film and look forward to hearing how viewers gained new perspective and appreciation for the work of a great man, conservationist and hunter.”

Leopold, like many who truly make a difference in their field, fully dedicated himself to conservation. In 1928 he believed wildlife conservation was so flawed, he quit his high-paying, comfortable job at the Forest Service to pursue, develop and implement his progressive thoughts on the topic. At the time he had five children and the country was about to enter The Great Depression.

Leopold’s urge to step out and make a difference was fueled by the initial reasoning that wildlife conservation was not sufficiently achieved by wildlife protection—it required active management. This meant that having Game Wardens enforce laws was not enough, and that effective wildlife conservation required wildlife managers.

After Leopold left the Forest Service, he was unemployed and needed to find a path to dedicate his career to wildlife conservation. In 1928, he was fortunate enough to land a contractor position with an influential trade group, The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI). Savage Arms was a member of his organization, so interestingly enough Savage was a direct supporter of Leopold in one of the most influential periods of his life. Leopold would go on to collect data, implement programs and models and be a driving force in conservation that still shapes policies and practices today.

Savage would like to thank the following to help make this film:

Stan Temple

Stan is the Beers-Bascom Professor Emeritus in Conservation in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology and former Chairman of the Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development Program in the Gaylord Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at UW–Madison. For 32 years he held the academic position once occupied by Aldo Leopold. He is currently a Senior Fellow with the Aldo Leopold Foundation

Janet Silbernagel

Janet is Professor Emeritus, Planning and Landscape Architecture at UW-Madison, where she specialized in regional conservation strategies and landscape ecology; building forest conservation scenarios. Janet grew up near Riley and her family property was once part of the Riley Game Cooperative.

The Aldo Leopold Foundation

Established in 1982 by the five children of Aldo Leopold and his wife Estella, we are a conservation organization that works to inspire an ethical relationship between people and nature through Leopold’s legacy. This vision of a “land ethic” was not meant to be rigid or dogmatic; instead, Leopold intended for it to evolve continually through personal reflection, open dialogue, and people’s actions on the land and in their communities. We invite you to join us as we work to weave a land ethic into society and encourage its unfolding in myriad of ways.

Savage Arms® Debuts Proprietary Camo Pattern on Multiple Big Game Rifles

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – April 26, 2023 Savage Arms proudly introduces its own versatile camo pattern, Woodland. Attendees at the 152nd Annual NRA Meetings & Exhibits in Indianapolis, Indiana from April 14-16 got the first look and its available now on the IMPULSE Big Game and 110 Ultralite Camo. Both rifles are mainstays in the Backcountry Xtreme Series and continue to showcase the AccuTrigger in its 20th year on the market.

Savage Woodland camouflage helps hunters close the distance. The breakthrough design specifically for Savage utilizes natural colors and shapes digitally enhanced to provide the ultimate in concealment at all ranges. The versatile mix of tans, browns and greens blends seamlessly into a variety of terrains. Savage Woodland hides hunters effectively in different cover—from hardwoods to grasslands, and even deep into the mountains.

The IMPULSE Big Game is Savage’s original Straight-Pull model. Since its introduction, several other models for hunting and competition have been released due to the popularity in the American and international markets. Bringing Savage’s own Woodland camouflage was a decision driven by customers. Savage received consistent feedback that hunters preferred a pattern that performed best in the field as opposed to one brand or one pattern.

“We’ve always had big plans for the Savage brand,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. “To see the lifestyle aspect of Savage take shape and receive supportive feedback and validation is exciting and opens a lot of new doors. You’ll see more of this in the future. Regarding camouflage, we worked hard on Woodland to get it right. The data that made us pull the trigger on this decision was that hunters wanted patterns that benefited them in the field—meaning concealment when it matters most. So developing our own camouflage was something we took very seriously.”

The 110 Ultralite is designed to combat elevation and elements while maintaining the performance of a factory blueprinted Savage 110 action. The carbon fiber wrapped stainless steel barrel and melonite skeletonized receiver minimize weight for success on any mountain hunt. The rifle comes equipped with Savage’s AccuFit™ technology with adjustable length-of-pull and comb height to provide hunters with optimum fit and performance. This new extension to the line features Savage Woodland camo for the ultimate concealment. The user-adjustable AccuTrigger™ allows crisp, clean shots to close out successful hunts.
