The National Deer Association Hires Brock Rosenkranz as Wisconsin Field to Fork Coordinator

November 22, 2023 – The National Deer Association is pleased to announce the hire of Brock Rosenkranz as the new Wisconsin Field to Fork Coordinator. This new recruit, retain and reactivate (R3) position, in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), is a jointly funded position dedicated to providing and supporting programming and events around the state to promote hunting, trapping and shooting sports. These efforts will focus on teaching people how to get started in each of these activities, supporting and engaging people already involved and encouraging individuals with prior experience who may not be currently active in these activities to get involved again.

The second-of-its-kind, Field to Fork Coordinator position will oversee the expansion of Field to Fork, our in-person, food-focused hunter recruitment program for adults and other Recruitment, Retention and Reactivation (R3) initiatives. These new initiatives and programs will aim to increase hunting participation and the societal acceptance of hunting in Wisconsin.

“We’re excited to bring together these two organizations with significant experience and success in converting people interested in hunting into active hunters,” said Hank Forester, NDA Director of Hunting. “With these additional personnel and resources, we will be able to do more for the thousands of aspiring hunters in Wisconsin.”

“We’re excited to be able to expand R3 program offerings through our partnership with the National Deer Association, particularly since we have a strong deer hunting culture in Wisconsin and see high interest in our programming from people who want to participate in that tradition”, said Emily Iehl, Wisconsin’s Hunting and Shooting Sports Program Specialist

Brock is a life-long resident of Southwest Wisconsin and has witnessed the change in the deer hunting culture, largely due to the rapid spread of Chronic Wasting Disease. Brock will serve as a resource for aspiring hunters along with the rest of the Wisconsin DNR R3 team. Brock has previously served as the R3 Chair for the Wisconsin Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers as well as the R3 Program Coordinator for Sharing the Land.

“As a lifelong deer hunter, who got my feet wet in the woods thanks to mentors, this new opportunity to work with the NDA, bringing new and returning outdoorsmen and women to the woods excites me greatly. My eagerness to hunt has grown into an eagerness to teach, and the NDA has given me an amazing opportunity to help turn aspiring hunters into lifelong conservationists.”

Stevens 320 Security Bead Sight by Savage Arms® Named Finalist for 2023 Ballistics’s Best Readers Choice Awards

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – November 22, 2023 – The Stevens 320 Security Bead Sight shotgun by Savage Arms® has been selected as a finalist in Athlon Outdoors’s yearly Ballistics’ Best Awards. The tactical shotgun rose to the top of the list of the Shotguns: Pump Action category.

“The Stevens 320 is a popular choice across the country,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. “The Athlon Staff recognizing the 320 Security Bead Sight as a finalist this year is a great honor. We look forward to the final voting results in such an important and competitive category.”

The Stevens 320 Security platform has been proven for years, and it’s now even better with a redesigned black matte synthetic stock and fore-end. Like all 320 shotguns, it features a smooth, reliable pump action, rotary bolt and dual slide-bars. It is now available in several configurations with specialized sighting systems, grips and other options.

For the 2023 issue of Ballistic’s Best, Athlon’s staff of writers and editors evaluated around 60 different companies. They looked at firearms across multiple categories, firing literally thousands of rounds downrange. The staff used a full scoring system, drilling down on features such as accuracy, reliability and more. Then they picked the very best performer from each and every group. This list doesn’t cater to advertisers or any such business. This is all about the guns that they think you’ll want to own and shoot. Voting is open now through December 31 here and casting a vote does provide eligibility for a prize from Athlon.
