SK Customs Partners with Springfield Armory for “Leonardo da Vinci,” Second Installment of Early Italian Renaissance Series

HAYMARKET, Va. – April 12, 2024 – SK Customs®, the Nation’s only series-driven, limited-edition manufacturer of custom firearms, is proud to announce the release of the “Leonardo da Vinci” Springfield Armory limited-edition engravers model 1911, chambered in 45 ACP.  This is the second installment of a four-part collection of handguns inspired by the art and innovation of the Early Italian Renaissance.

Each installment of the Early Italian Renaissance series will be a limited-edition firearm, with only 250 numbered units being released per firearm. This collection includes da Vinci's most celebrated works, the smile of the "Mona Lisa," "Vitruvian Man" and "The Last Supper," symbolizing the artist's contributions to the world of art that have captivated audiences all across the globe.

“Leonardo da Vinci made remarkable contributions to the Italian Renaissance and the world as a painter, engineer, scientist, sculptor and so much more,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs. “The features of the handgun pay tribute to his greatest artistic works. And as an engineer who designed war machines, the gun itself is a tribute to da Vinci’s contributions and long-lasting effects on modern society.”

SK Customs uses proprietary color conversion engineering to create a violet color that is highly reflective and permanent. Leonardo da Vinci features genuine imported Italian Olivewood grip panels engraved with Italy’s Fleur de Lis which are hand-painted to match the violet accents on the slide.

SK Customs applies a semi-polished finish on the frame and the slide flats and a high-polished finish on the barrel of the firearm. There is selective 24-karat gold plating on the artwork featured on this handgun and on select parts of the gun itself.

The MSRP of the da Vinci models will begin at $2,405.00.

Gold Series

Also included in the Early Italian Renaissance Series is a collection of limited-edition engravers model 1911 pistols dubbed the “Gold Series.” This limited batch will consist of only 25 completed series sets with consecutive series numbers and matching edition numbers. These sets will also contain matching limited-edition engraved 24-karat gold etched blades, numbered to match each set, by renowned knife maker Coltellerie Maserin. A custom wall or tabletop display case will also be made optional for those who want to display their “Gold Series” in an elegant manner.

SK Customs® Introduces Third Edition of Untamed Series: Luchando Tigre

HAYMARKET, Va. – March 15, 2024SK Guns®, the Nation’s only series-driven, limited edition manufacturer of custom firearms, is proud to announce the release of the third edition of the Untamed Series of the world’s deadliest predators: “Luchando Tigre.” This latest production in the series combines a native ritual and a deadly predator into one remarkable installment.

“Luchando Tigre” comes from the native Atsatsilisti ritual in the Mexican state of Guerrero to offer blood to the god Tláloc and the earth in exchange for the rain necessary for a good harvest. Dressed in a tiger personification and equipped with a rope bathed in mezcal, the tribute’s shed blood is the offering required by Tláloc to send the rain. A deadly tiger is depicted wrapping around the slide leaping toward its prey with teeth and claws bared, locked on tearing apart its prey.

“This year’s edition of the Untamed Series truly embodies the idea behind this line of custom guns,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Guns. “The tiger symbolism used in the Arsatslisti ritual for rain combined with the danger synonymous with the Bengal tiger that is depicted along the slide showcases the “tigris” subspecies century-old status as one of the most feared predators in the world.”

The tiger is covered in 24K gold and black-filled stripes with selective silver-plated eyes, teeth and claws. The Colt® logo decorates the rear left panel and the right is engraved with each gun’s unique issued series number.

The production comes complete with a set of rare specimen genuine tiger maple wood grips showing off stripes going across the grain resembling a tiger’s coat with 24K gold Colt® Rampart inserts.

Luchando Tigre is a limited-edition product run of only 200 Colt 1911 Full-Size Government Models chambered in 38 Super, featuring a semi-polished stainless finish on the slide and frame flats.

Luchando Tigre can be purchased here, starting at $2,700.00 and will begin shipping on Cinco De Mayo (May 5th, 2024).

SK Customs Launches New “Gold Series” Featuring the Early Italian Renaissance

HAYMARKET, Va. – March 1, 2024SK Customs®, the Nation’s only series-driven, limited-edition manufacturer of custom firearms, is proud to announce its new “Gold Series” as part of the Early Italian Renaissance collection. Drawing inspiration from the 15th century, the Early Italian Renaissance Series showcases the masterpieces of renowned artists such as Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Andrea del Sarto and Raphael.

The new “Gold Series” will be limited to only 25 completed series sets, consisting of one custom-engraved knife, and four custom-engraved firearms that feature the iconic figures of the Early Italian Renaissance. Each knife and firearm set will have consecutive serial numbers and matching edition numbers.

SK Customs is partnering with Springfield Armory on this collection of limited-edition engravers model 1911 pistols chambered in 45 ACP. The Gold Series guns are accompanied by a limited-edition of engraved 24k gold etched blades, by renowned knife maker Coltellerie Maserin. Established in 1960, Coltellerie Maserin has been a reference in that artisan tradition since the beginning of the company and has led Maniago, “City of Knives,” to excel everywhere in the quality of its products.

“The goal of the Gold Series is to symbolize the cultural rebirth of the 15th century. With each installment, we aim to pay homage to the knowledge, art and humanism of the era,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Guns. “The firearms in this series have remarkable beauty, and this collection is truly set apart by the addition of the knives created by Coltellerie Maserin. This striking combination of gold, wood and steel is a fantastic tribute to the innovation and beauty of the Early Italian Renaissance.”

SK Customs’ proprietary color conversion engineering ensures a highly reflective and permanent color on the steel slide of each firearm. The pistols also boast Italian Olivewood grip panels engraved with Italy’s Fleur De Lis, which are hand-painted to match the color accents on the slide. The semi-polished finish on the frame and slide flats, high polished barrel and selective 24k gold plating on the art and select parts complete these works of art.

A custom-made display case is optional and can be built to order in either a wall-hung version with an etched glass lid or a table display version with a hardwood top and glass dust cover to display all four pistols and a knife. No other guns in the Early Italian Renaissance Series will have this added value.
