Engagement. This is often a buzz word when discussing social media strategies for a business. So how do you be more engaging? Two factors are important: What you post and How you interact.
What you post:
Social Media is a powerful tool to get your story out to more people, attract people to you and get the attention of people. So, someone has liked your page, now what?
That is when the work begins – you must keep people interested in your brand and you do that by following the concept of Know – Like – Trust.
Know – Like – Trust – when putting together your social media calendar your team should challenge themselves to ask, will this post make our followers know us, like us, or trust us more? If it doesn’t satisfy one of those questions, do you really need to post it?
Why is this important? There is a certain amount of distrust that can come from social media, but if you are actively trying to make your followers feel a certain way when they encounter anything having to do with your brand, it will set you up for success.
Take a Realtor for example. A Realtor who’s underlying message of all things is that they truly care about you finding your dream home and will fight for you to get what you want. That would give prospective home buyers peace of mind, right? Resulting in trust of them in what can be an overwhelming process, correct?
How you interact:
How many of you make it a priority to engage daily on Instagram?
Spending a dedicated amount of time per day will make a huge difference! Engaging with followers in an intentional manner is important. Intentional engagement is much more than liking a comment. Taking time to interact in a more meaningful way such as asking a question back to them or adding information within the comments can really move the needle. Give your followers and fans a reason to engage with you so that you in turn can provide more guts to your post.
These tactics help the progress of the ‘know-like-trust’ process.
