May 26, 2021 – The National Deer Association (NDA) reminds participants to take advantage of reduced pandemic pricing for the Online Deer Steward Level 1 course. The critically acclaimed and hugely popular Deer Steward Level 1 course agenda is infused with the latest in deer research and management advice, and the cost of registration has been reduced since March 2020. Discounted pricing ends June 4, 2021.
“We are really excited about the online Deer Steward course and how it gives access to people all over the country,” said Matt Ross, NDA Director of Conservation. “We knew everyone was going through a lot during the pandemic and we wanted to make access a little easier. We encourage all deer hunters, or anyone interested in managing land or wildlife to jump on this opportunity and get access to invaluable information from some of the best brains in the industry at a great price.”
Deer Steward 1 Online provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the key principles of deer biology, ecology and management. Through a unique partnership with Clemson University, attendees gain access to a digital recording of one of the previous Deer Steward Level 1 courses (filmed in front of a live audience) and will have up to 180 days to complete the series of six sessions (broken down into approximately 16 hours of 20 topics) at their own pace.
Just like the in-person Deer Steward course, registrants must pass an exam to graduate and continuing education credits from either the Society of American Foresters and/or The Wildlife Society are available. Additionally, NDA is now compliant with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Continuing Forestry Education (CFE) credits are available for an additional $50. Graduates of the online Deer Steward will be eligible to take one of the in-person Level 2 courses upon completion.
Pricing and Registration:

$225 $200 Regular NDA Members

“If there was ever a time to take a class like this, now is the time before the price increases back to original rates. By the end of the program, graduates are able to design and implement their own comprehensive property-specific deer management plan. So, for the price of a new set of camouflage, attendees in essence gain enough knowledge to become their own quality deer manager!” said Ross.
