Savage Arms® Announces 21 Sharp Rimfire Rifle Offerings

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – September 18, 2024 – Savage Arms®, an iconic firearm manufacturer, is proud to announce the release of four rifle models chambered in Winchester’s new rimfire cartridge, 21 Sharp. The caliber was created to maximize the rimfire shooting experience for recreational shooters and small game hunters.

"Rimfire caliber additions are rare," said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. "Adding the 21 Sharp to our proven and coveted rimfire lineup is a win for everyone involved. We’re excited to see how plinkers, precision shooters and small game hunters take advantage of the new performance capabilities of this cartridge."

The 21 Sharp boasts several key features that set it apart from its counterparts. The straight profile, non-heeled bullets enable the use of efficient aerodynamic and modern bullet shapes. The results include enhanced accuracy, particularly with lead-free projectiles. With a velocity of up to 1,750 FPS in 25-grain bullets, the 21 Sharp cartridge delivers impressive speed and power, and its compatibility with 22 LR magazines ensures shooters' ease of use and convenience.

One of the standout advantages of the 21 Sharp cartridge is its affordability. Priced between 22LR and magnum rimfire ammunition, shooters can enjoy the benefits of a high-performance cartridge without breaking the bank. With bullet weights ranging from 25 to 42 grains, the 21 Sharp cartridge caters to various shooting needs, including plinking, small game hunting and target shooting.

Initial Savage rifles chambered in 21 Sharp will include three MARK II models and one B Series model. Target shooters will be able to fully utilize this cartridge in a modern, comfortable-shooting rifle with the B Series F. Its button-rifled barrel pushes precision to new levels and its ergonomic stock plus availability in left and right-hand models provides shooters with a range of options to suit individual preferences.

Multiple Mark II options in 21 Sharp will also appeal to a variety of shooters and hunters as all 21 Sharp options feature the revolutionary AccuTrigger. The Mark II F with its rugged build, the Mark II F Minimalist Green with its lightweight design and the shorter barreled Mark II FV-SR represent a diverse lineup and provide specific features for early 21 Sharp adopters to choose from and use.

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – September 17, 2024Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation (OSCF) along with Wildlife Management Institute created the Outdoor Industry Communication Council (OICC) to form a coalition of state wildlife agencies, NGOs, media, industry brands, organizations and manufacturers. The OICC’s goal is to better inform people of the benefits of getting outdoors and participating in activities such as hunting, fishing, trapping and target shooting. Funding from HATS makes up a large portion of state department of natural resources’ budgets and allows them to do all the terrific work they do, much of which supports hunting and shooting.

As hunters hit their favorite outdoor retailers in preparation for hunting season, it’s an important time to inform and engage them on a variety of topics. This importance is felt by a diverse group—including but not limited to sporting goods manufacturers, state agencies, conservation groups, mainstream media, hunting and shooting-specific publishers and popular personalities, influencers and online destinations.

“The time is now to reach those audiences we all depend on,” said executive director of Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation Jim Curcuruto. “HATS do so much for conservation and improving all types of habitats —with a lot of that not connected to hunting, shooting or trapping at all—we need to spread those messages and grow our industry. The OICC provides great assets including social media graphics and content as well as relevant and recent studies for all to feature or supplement their communications efforts. A quick signup on our website opens the conservation and our team is standing by to support specific needs and requests.”
