ATHENS, Ala. – April 14, 2021 – Shoot Like A Girl is excited to announce the winner of the Hunt Like A Girl™ Contest in partnership with Beretta USA. The contest winner, Christina Jones, was nominated by several friends during the promotion period, and Jones’ entry was chosen after careful consideration by both sponsors. Jones will be participating in her first-ever turkey hunt in Kansas this May with an all-female team from Shoot Like A Girl and Beretta. She will also receive a gear prize pack from the hunt sponsors.
“I’m so grateful to Beretta and the Shoot Like A Girl team for giving me this amazing opportunity,” said Jones. “Due to an injury, I am unable to use my left arm, so I have learned to shoot a bow with a mouth tab. While experiencing chronic pain, I have pushed myself to be better than my disability, encouraging other girls and women to shoot a bow and to overcome any obstacles they may be facing. I have never hunted turkeys before, so this is a dream come true!”
“There were so many incredibly inspiring essays submitted for this contest,” said Karen Butler, Founder and President of Shoot Like A Girl. “When I called Christina to notify her that she won, the excitement and gratitude in her voice was palpable. It made me even more thankful for what Shoot Like A Girl is doing and for the opportunity our team has to share these experiences with women like Christina.”

Entrants were required to complete an online entry form and nominate either a friend or themselves for the grand prize by submitting a brief “essay” explaining the reason for the nomination (500-character limit). Thanks to a thoughtfully crafted submission from Jones and several nominations from friends, Jones will embark on the hunt of a lifetime this May.
