ATHENS, Ala. – September 8, 2020 – Shoot Like A Girl's Coast to Coast Tour is making its way to Branson, Missouri this weekend (September 12-13) to participate in the Annual Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Days. Taking place at the scenic Table Rock State Park, this annual autumn event celebrates conservation and the exhilarating world of outdoor recreation. Shoot Like A Girl will supplement the festivities by giving guests an opportunity to experience the shooting sports in a fun, interactive and safe environment.
About Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Days
Free of charge and open to the public, the Annual Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Days celebration brings together various organizations, groups and agencies to provide educational experiences through outdoor adventures, the learning of outdoor skills and the conservation advocacy of natural resources and wildlife. This year, in addition to the Shoot Like A Girl experience, guests can also expect a fishing tournament, kayak events and a number of free outdoor activities. Hours of operation are Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pre-registration will begin Friday night.
“This annual celebration is the perfect opportunity to usher in a new season and celebrate the great outdoors—and all it has to offer,” said Karen Butler, Founder and President of Shoot Like A Girl. “The Shoot Like A Girl trailer will be equipped with products from some of the finest brands in the industry, and inside the shooting range, our certified female instructors will help bring the shooting sports to life for guests in a comfortable, confidence-boosting atmosphere. What better way to celebrate the shooting sports than to enjoy it with likeminded individuals in Bass Pro Shops’ home state.”
The Shoot Like A Girl Experience
The Shoot Like A Girl trailer is equipped with a state-of-the-art, military-grade firearm simulator (for guests 16 years of age or older) which provides realistic recoil, impact and sound feedback. Archery coaches are also onsite to assist guests with shooting bows. No experience is necessary to participate, and all equipment is provided to guests upon arrival. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their families and young children to discuss and hear more about firearm safety.
Outside the range, at the Shoot Like A Girl gun counter, visitors of all ages are welcome to compare a variety of disabled firearms, including revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, shotguns and rifles. Additional products from corporate partners will be on display, including optics, conceal carry bags, holsters, TrueTimber camouflage gear, SABRE pepper spray products and much more. A full list of partners is available online.
What to Expect This Weekend
Shoot Like A Girl will deviate from normal operating procedures at this weekend’s event by opening up the trailer to Scout troops in attendance, allowing them to use the firearm simulator at their own pace. In order to be able to shoot inside the firearm simulator, Scouts must know the firearm safety rules, and Shoot Like A Girl will also distribute a firearm safety pamphlet (provided by GLOCK) to each participant prior to entering the trailer. Certified instructors will keep the troops’ scores throughout the two-day event and will announce a winner at the end of the festivities. The winner will receive an assortment of prizes.
A special note for media and reporters: This experience offers a great opportunity for live broadcasting and lifestyle news segments. Photos are available online.
