The Cool Breeze That Starts Hunting Season

The Cool Breeze That Starts Hunting Season

The first of September doesn’t just signal a change in the weather—it flips the switch for outdoor content creators, and after months of planning, packing and daydreaming, fall hunting season finally arrives. Fly rods get swapped for compound bows and camera batteries are charged. Our team eagerly awaits a stretch of early mornings, late nights and unforgettable outdoor adventures.

For me, this time of year always brings reflection. Last fall was packed with travel, hunts and creative projects that pushed us in new ways. Looking back at the 2024 season, I can’t help but feel grateful—and fired up—for what’s next.

A Season of Hunts and Highlights

Last fall, the Murray Road Content Team logged hunts in more than eight locations across the United States and South Africa. In between, we tackled everything from product launch videos and lifestyle photography to studio shoots for our brand partners. Here are the top highlights from an action-packed fall.

We kicked things off in South Africa with our good friend Adam Wies (a.k.a. WhoTeeWho). Unlike our previous Africa trip—where a close call with a buffalo gave us more adrenaline than we bargained for—this adventure was all about stunning landscapes, unforgettable hunts and content that speaks for itself.

Next, our journey took us to Paso Robles, California, where we partnered with Savage Arms and Burris Optics for a truly one-of-a-kind blacktail hunt at Steinbeck Vineyard. Surrounded by rows of grapevines and stunning scenery, the experience blended the best of the outdoors with the beauty of wine country. Even Murray Road President Tim Brandt swapped his cell phone for a Savage 110 PPR—and walked away with a successful hunt to remember.

Of course, no fall is complete without whitetail hunting. From writer hunts at the South Carolina Waterfowl Association with TrueTimber and West Texas with Savage Arms, we logged our fair share of tree stand time. The season wrapped in style with the launch video for the Barnes Harvest Collection—a fitting finale to months of hard work in the field.

And just as winter set in at our office in Minnesota, we wrapped up at the legendary Bay Flats Lodge with Remington Ammunition and Stoeger for a week of waterfowl hunting and fishing. Cold weather, good company and one last adventure sealed the season.

2025 Hunting Content Plans

If there’s one thing we’ve learned at Murray Road Agency, it’s that each fall grows busier, more exciting, and even more rewarding. Familiar clients come back, new ones jump in, and every trip adds another story to the collection.

This year is no different. We’re kicking things off in West Texas chasing oryx, then heading north for mule deer hunts in Montana and New Mexico, waterfowl in Canada and whitetails across the Midwest. It won’t all be sunshine—more like cold mornings, long sits and muddy boots—but that’s the work we love, and the stories we live to tell.

Here’s to another season. Follow along on Murray Road’s social channels as we head into the woods, fields, and marshes. And to everyone out there chasing their own fall adventures—best of luck.
