ATHENS, Ala. – January 22, 2021 – Shoot Like A Girl is extremely proud to announce that Suzetta Wise, archery coach and Shoot Like A Girl instructor, was presented with the Archery Trade Association’s Impact Award for Youth Outreach earlier this month. The award recognizes individuals and companies who have bettered the archery industry through charitable works and by inspiring others to participate in archery and bowhunting.
“To say we’re proud of Suzetta for the work she’s done in the archery industry is an understatement,” said Karen Butler, Founder and President of Shoot Like A Girl. “We have an amazing group of female instructors who make the Shoot Like A Girl experience truly unique and set the bar for excellence in the shooting sports—and it’s such an honor to include Suzetta in that number.”
Wise has been an archery instructor with Shoot Like A Girl since 2013 and has introduced, coached and supported thousands of new female archers along the way. Outside of Shoot Like A Girl, she spends time working with youth archers where she offers not only instruction, but uses the opportunity to teach countless life lessons as well as giving them exposure to competition. Wise practices extensively to be an ethical hunter and champion archer. She has placed top three in many Archery Shooter’s Association Tournaments since 2012 and continues to compete at a high level.
“One of the greatest joys in this line of work is being able to help women become more comfortable and confident in the shooting sports,” said Wise. “The confidence that exudes from the women who leave the Shoot Like A Girl trailer is incredible to witness. It’s amazing to watch women walk into the trailer, feeling apprehensive about shooting a bow for the first time, and then seeing their excitement and confidence after they pull the bow back and release an arrow.”

Empowering Women in 2021
The Shoot Like A Girl experience is truly unique, giving women the opportunity to shoot a pistol, rifle and bow in a safe, controlled environment with the guidance of female NRA-certified instructors and archery coaches. In 2020, the tour included stops at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, conservation events
and corporate events—with several events having lines out the door and record numbers of attendees. Looking ahead to the 2021 Home of the Brave Tour, Shoot Like A Girl is anticipating continued momentum from the previous year. The tour will begin in early February, and a full event schedule is available online.
